6 GCSE/BTEC passes at Level 4 or above. If you would like to study Chemistry at A-Level it is desirable for you to achieve a Level 6 or above in Chemistry at GCSE. In addition, you would also need a Level 5 in Maths.
Lessons are an introduction to new ideas and a chance to practise work with assistance. Regular homework and end of unit tests will help you to deepen your understanding and check your progress. Practical work is more exciting and more technical than you will be used to from GCSE.
100% traditional exams. Assessed practical tasks are carried out in the class room and the student is awarded a separate certificate of pass or fail. The A Level consists of three exam papers. They include short and long answer questions, multiple choice questions and questions about practical technique and data analysis. Two papers are worth 35% and the other is worth 30%.
